A corner of paradise in Normandy

Exclusively for La Petite Musette, we opened the doors of Château Bellenau, in the outskirts of Carentan (50). The site contains a castle, multiple dwellings, a chapel and finally an absolutely beautiful garden planted with hundreds of plant species from all over the world. Ways conducive to walking and meditation cross streams and vegetation. An unusual place to discover!

Unusual and Historical

Imagine the scenery for a paratrooper during the night of June 5th to 6th, 1944, coming from the other side of the globe and landed in the middle of a garden of Normandy planted with tropical trees in deep French countryside. The building will become the first castle freed from Normandy that night. Colonel Howard R. Johnson, commander of the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, will set up its Headquarters at the beginning of the invasion.
