Theme : 1st Infantry Division on Omaha Beach
Time : World War II (1944)
Details : Soldier of the 16th Regiment of the 1st US Infantry Division on Omaha Beach on June 6th, 1944. The Division has just set foot on the ground of France. The uniform consists of a mustard wool outfit and a M-1941 field jacket. The equipment is complete with the M-1928 Havresac, the M-1943 folding shovel, and the M7 waterproof cover for transporting the M5 gas mask carried by the unit during the Landing with the gas detection armband. At this moment, there is a fear of this type of attack as during World War I. However, the 3-pressure lifebelt is not visible. Note that the wearing of the leather chin strap is prohibited within the 16th Regiment. This man could be the shooter of the Browning Cal. 30 collective machine gun, which would explain the wearing of the M-1936 belt as well as Colt in 45ACP for a simple private.
