Details: On June 10th, the 12nd Regiment, counter-attacked, retreated to Saint-Floxel, towards Montebourg. This private remains attentive to the elements that surround it and crosses these famous hedges. He wears the HBT suit with under the jacket, the M-41 fieldjacket. The equipment is simplified and lighter, note the GP bag hooked to the suspenders in the back. The ivy leaf of the unit (nicknamed “IVY”) is hand painted on the M1 helmet in light green. The helmet is covered with a medium mesh net, which is regulated and mostly manufactured in England. The fighting will be difficult and intense for these soldiers, and it will be only the beginning …

Details : This sergeant of the Pathfinders of the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment ( 82nd Airborne Division), have a rest between several fights scattered near La Fiere, mythical marshy place located between Sainte-Mère-Eglise, Amfreville, Picauville and Chef du Pont (50). A few hours earlier, this man and his crew, released from the air in the middle of hostile territory and during the night before the wave of paratroopers, had the heavy task of marking the drop zones for the other ones.

Details :
This soldier of the 314th Infantry Regiment of the 79th Infantry Division after the battle for the Cherbourg Festung (50). The pic is taken at the top of the Fort of Roule whose regiment has participated in the fightings. This infantryman was foresight and wears his raincoat over his HBT combat clothing and equipment. We also note the typical helmet net of the 79th in Normandy, rather handmade with multitude of variant, worn on the helmet M1. The infantryman also slipped the patch of his division under his net.

Details : This Sergeant of the 1st American Infantry Division “Big Red One” easily recognizable with the patch carried on the left shoulder is equipped with a flamethrower M1A1. This metal reproduction, realized by its owner, is of the most beautiful effect. The version M1A1 projected napalm at this time, unlike the previous version that used gasoline. In 1944, an M2 version was gradually introduced.

Details : This photograph was taken during a re-enactment in Hamoir in Belgium during the summer of 2016. It could be interpreted a moment of rest for three paratroopers of the 101st airborne division somewhere in Europe meditating along a canal where The atmosphere is soothing, while some M-1943 uniforms have already been perceived.
