Details : Landed on Utah Beach barely a week after the beginning of the operations in Normandy, the division takes part in the liberation of Cherbourg, in North Cotentin. Once the city is liberated, the unit will know the heavy fighting near la Haye-du-Puits before continuing its descent of the territory during the Operation Cobra at the end of July.

Details : “Passionate about the US Marine Corps for a very long time, I decided to pay tribute to them in the different reenactments! I wear the HBT USMC suit and I took the initiative to not carry a package in this picture that we could locate in Peleliu in 1944, theater of operations of a battle between September 15th and November 25th. The last Japanese resistance point only surrendered on April 21st, 1947, more than a year and a half after the end of the Pacific War.”

Details : Private of Company C of the 2nd Battalion of Rangers was wounded at the foot of the cliffs of Omaha Beach. Unlike the Dog, Easy and Fox companies that climb Pointe du Hoc, this company, like the A and B, land alongside the 29th and 1st infantry divisions. These units suffered heavy casualties on the morning of June 6th, 1944, but continued the battle before being deactivated on October 23rd, 1945.
